My name is Patricia Cole, and I have been painting portraits since the 1980's. I reside in Inverness Florida with my husband. I have always been happy doing things that are creative, and was a beautician with my own beauty salon in Venice FL for many years. One day I saw an ad in the newspaper to take a class in pastel portraits, and I jumped at the chance to learn. Little did I know that I would absolutely fall in love with this wonderful, gratifying form of art. It is such a rewarding feeling when I see life coming into the flat drawing on canvas. I have taken many art work shops and series of classes throughout the years. I always strive to bring out the personality of the person, or the pet. That is why a very clear photo is needed to accomplish this.
If you have a favorite photograph of a family member, friend, or a pet, you may want to consider having it turned into a cherished work of art. An oil painting on canvas will certainly do that. Portraits make wonderful gifts that may be given at birthdays, weddings, retirement, graduation, Mothers Day, Fathers Day and many other occasions. At times you may like to give a gift certificate so the person can order it themselves. They could decide if they want a family portrait, or one of their pet, as well as give information to their preferences in the painting.
